A note about Rosboro Columns

Since compression parallel to grain stresses are distributed uniformly over the cross-section of a typical column member, Rosboro glulam columns are manufactured using a single grade of lumber throughout the depth of the member. Two distinct values are provided for Fb depending on which axis the load is applied to, i.e., parallel to the wide or to the narrow face of the member.

Rosboro Tall Wall Columns

In the past tall walls were conventionally framed and that style of construction created hinges in the framing that could compromise the design. Rosboro columns allow builders to run framing from floor to ceiling with one continuous piece. Rosboro laminated columns are dry so they will remain straight and true and the 3-1/2” and 5-1/2” width fits the wall framing. The same column material can also be used for the horizontal framing in tall wall construction.
